Victoria Counselling and Therapy

Victoria Counselling and Therapy hosts Bernadette as our primary counsellor. Her practice focuses on supporting individuals on their journey to wellness.

Bernadette's goal is to provide sufficient support, tools, self-reflection, and scaffolding to empower clients to a level that relegates requirements for her counselling services to maintenance and refreshers. With this approach the length of therapy depends much on the client. Bernadette offers short term counselling, long term counselling, and refreshers or booster sessions as needed

Bernadette uses an integrated approach borrowing from several different theoretical orientations to create a treatment plan that is unique and tailored to each client. Her favoured approaches include mindfulness, positive psychology, solution-focused treatment, and identification of cognitive distortions. Bernadette's methods use a multi-pronged approach including the  biological, psychological, and social domains. A spiritual aspect is also included for those clients who wish to include this domain.

Bernadette combines her life experience, biochemistry knowledge, and psychological education to provide empathicnon-judgemental, culturally sensitive support for her clients.
